For these next two months, both of the guys teams are working with an organization called, One Way Community. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we go to a town in the mountains called San Lorenzo where the ministry is based. One Way is currently renting out a house at the top of the village where they hope to use it as a school, office, kitchen, and church. They are planning on building a second floor addition to the house and fixing it up so that it can be a place where the local community can gather. Yesterday, we put primer on all of the walls on the inside of the house and shoveled trash and dirt to help prepare for building the extension. Other days, we have done soccer camp and house visits. During each house visit we have been able to sit with families in the community, listen to their stories, and pray for them. On Tuesday, we drive about an hour and a half to the mountains, where we have the ministry opportunity to help feed mothers and children of the Mayan community. Most of the kids are malnourished, so the meal that we serve is often the most nutritious meal that they will receive each week. On Thursday, we have activation. For activation, we have a lesson in the morning led by the staff of the AIM Guatemala, base. These past two weeks we had one lesson on hearing the voice of the Lord and one on Identity. After we have our lesson, we are given time to sit with the Lord and hear what He has to say to us. Then after that time, we are sent out into the towns nearby to put into practice what we have just learned. In these next two months please pray for our ministry, One Way Community, that we would meet the needs of the people of San Lorenzo, and that we don’t shy away from what the Lord wants to do.
